Join ioby, the only nonprofit crowdfunding platform invested in building long-term fundraising capacity by training city leaders and residents on the pros, cons, and how-to’s of crowdfunding for civic projects. ioby believes that the most effective way to reshape our cities' institutions is to give residents opportunities to meaningfully engage in the design, delivery, and financing of assets in public space.

In this workshop, ioby will demonstrate how cities can use crowdfunding tools to:

1) meaningfully engage residents in neighborhoods with long histories of disinvestment,
2) respond quickly and effectively to the real needs and ideas of residents, and
3) expand and deepen community engagement with a tight budget and scarce resources.

ioby's Leader Success Strategist, Jennifer Allen, will also answer any questions that attendees might have about risk management and liability, procurement, and maintenance. Attendees will also walk away with some next steps to take if they are interested in working with ioby to cultivate and fund resident-led ideas.
