Linda Tigani

Linda Tigani is an Ethiopian-Sudanese American born Social Worker, organizer, and researcher. She is a member of Malcolm X Grassroots Movement (MXGM), New York Chapter and Black 4 Palestine.  Her work is focused on ending police violence through Cop Watch, Know Your Rights workshop and representing MXGM in Communities United for Police Reform, an unprecedented citywide campaign to end discriminatory policing practices in New York. Over the past 12 years, Linda has designed, and co-lead retreats focusing on developing responses to anti-police violence practice.  Linda is driven by her belief in the Palestinian right to return to their land and the self determination of all Black/ African people to govern themselves and their land. She holds a B.A. from Bard College in Sociology and a M.S.W. from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, which is a focused-on Community Organizing Planning and Development.
